CHARACTERIZATION OF FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING COMPONENTS FABRICATED AT DIFFERENT PRINT ORIENTATIONS

Abstract The quality of the components fabricated using fusion deposition modelling (FDM) can be tailored by proper selection process parameters values. Print orientation is a key parameter in FDM which has strong influence on defect formation and thereby mechanical properties components. To address print orientation, Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) samples were tested. different orientations namely 0°, 45°, 90° combination 45° 135° alternatively. From investigation, it was inferred that crucial deciding part attributing towards load bearing capacity seams. exhibit higher strength exhibiting peak values 942 N elongation 128 mm. capability more than 40 times 45°/135° attributed to availability continuous longer seam supports elongation.
